At SCARPA, we pride ourselves in the performance, quality and comfort of our products. Every model starts its life as a concept and is created with the intention of being the best possible product for its intended use. SCARPA has more experience than any other climbing shoe manufacturer in the world and we continue to develop and bring new innovations to market. We do more to each layer of the shoe and we use superior materials when compared to any other brand. What sets SCARPA® apart from the competitors
Lasts
The last is the shape or form that our climbing shoes are built on. SCARPA not only has the most carefully created lasts, but also has more of them than any other company in the world. Our collection consists of 20 different climbing shoe lasts across a range of 38 models.
Multi-Panel Upper
The upper stitching pattern is critical to the way a climbing shoe molds to a climber's foot and maintains its shape and precision over time. SCARPA has the most complicated and thought out stitch patterns and materials on the market. Our uppers are specially designed to map the critical areas of the toes for better fit and sensitivity. Multi-Panel uppers also allow for climbers to resole their shoes multiple times, while maintaining the original shape and intended climbing characteristics.
Midsoles
The midsoles of our climbing shoes are more complicated than any other brand's. SCARPA has the most minimalistic midsoles to the most supportive and everything in between. We use only high performance materials and we shape the midsole according to the characteristics we want the shoe to reflect. Through the careful manipulation of the materials, by curving, adding, or removing material, we can change the sensitivity and support of different parts of the shoe.
Active Randing
Tension systems are an art that SCARPA has mastered. We don't just have a single tension system, we have many. More than 10 tension systems span our climbing shoe collection, to give the response and feeling that each specially crafted climbing shoes requires. This is more than all other climbing shoe brands combined. These tension systems change the way our climbing shoes respond to how the foot moves.
Rubber
SCARPA uses more rubber compounds than any other climbing shoe brand. We carefully place different types of rubber around our shoes, in order to get the best response, which translates to the most performance possible for our customers. Different compounds give different results: softer compounds are for better grip and more elasticity while hard compounds are for better edge stability.
It all adds up to the best.
We do more to each layer of the shoe, and we use superior materials when compared to any other brand. This all adds up to the fact that SCARPA has, without a doubt, the best performing, and most comfortable climbing shoes available in the world.
Climbing Shoe Profile Explained
Different types of climbing can benefit from a range of heel-to-toe profiles.

Flat shoes are optimal for climbing moves that involve pushing with the foot. Depending on the stiffness, they can excel at edging and smearing.
Downturned shoes put the foot into a position to be able to pull. This is a huge benefit when climbing roofs or when climbing overhanging boulders.
Moderately downturned shoes allow climbers to pull with their feet, but maintain their versatility.
Aggressively downturned shoes can excel at overhanging moves and edging on small holds, but aren't appropriate for smearing or crack climbing.
Climbing Shoe Symmetry Explained
This continuum represents how the different shapes of a last concentrate a climber's weight along the foot and over the toes.
Less asymmetrical footprints give a more even distribution of weight along the entire foot and middle toes. This helps train feet that are new to rock climbing and provides comfort for advanced climbers during extended use.
Increasingly asymmetric footprints concentrate the climber’s weight to a specialized point. This provides power specifically where advanced climbers need the support.

The All-Day Performance line is designed to offer climbing shoes ideal for large range of climbers with the main focus being comfort. From beginners looking for their first pair of shoes to professional guides leading clients up multi-pitch terrain, these models combine comfort and technology to do it all. The All-Day Performance family models have flat or slightly asymmetric shapes in order to guarantee an easy fit, support and maximum comfort during prolonged use.

The Performance line is ideal for climbers looking for one shoe that can do it all. Support, precision and comfort are the key elements to the models in this family. Their slightly asymmetric and downturned shape guarantees optimal performance across a variety of climbing styles and rock types. Arpia V + Arpia V LV
The Arpia V and Arpia V LV (Low Volume) is a versatile shoe suited for both indoor and outdoor climbing. Made with a soft supple upper and full sticky rubber coverage over the toes, the Arpia can be sized tightly for performance but remains comfortable.
