MEET THE maestrale rs & gea rs
The new Maestrale RS and Gea RS are the perfect blend of performance and backcountry functionality. Completely redesigned from the ground up, this new generation uses state of the art planet-friendly materials and technology to bring you the lightest weight, most powerful version yet. The RS shell combines Carbon Core technology with Grilamid® Bio for increased power without added weight. A Pebax® New cuff also utilizes Carbon Core technology for increased torsional rigidity while also providing 61 degree range of motion for long efficient strides. Our tried-and-true HRS strap keeps your heel planted where is should be and is now easily replaceable in the field. Our super reliable, easy to use Wave Closure system provides a secure, precise fit over the instep for increased control and impulse transmission. A PVC free Booster Step can be cranked tight for when things get serious and features RECCO® Technology for avalanche search ability. The Maestrale RS and Gea RS are for backcountry skiers looking for versatile, uncompromising performance uphill and down.

Maestrale and Gea:
Our gold-standard, classic touring boots that redefined the category, the lightweight Maestrale and Gea continue to ski as well as they tour. The Pebax® Rnew plant-based shell now features a Carbon Core for increased torsional and longitudinal rigidity for greater precision and control.

Maestrale RS and Gea RS:
The stiffer and more powerful versions of our top-selling Maestrale and Gea, the Maestrale RS and Gea RS live at the intersection of freeride performance and backcountry functionality. Carbon Core technology is utilized in the Grilimid® Bio shell and cuff of the RS versions to further enhance power for increased downhill performance.
TECH FEATURES
new last + new fit = more precision
The new Maestrale and Gea are not only built on a brand new last, but the overall volume and profile of the boot has been completely redesigned. Although the widest part of the boot is +1mm wider than before, the rest of the shell has been reshaped to provide a much more precise fit, which allows for greater impulse transmission from skier to ski.

Compared to the old Maestrale/Gea, these new models have less volume over the instep. But make no mistake – this is still our warmest, most comfortable family of boots! When compared to the Quattro Family, these new Maestrale/Gea models will be more comfortable and provide more warmth; two critical focus areas for a pure backcountry touring boot.
Another change on these new boots is that the BSL of each shell size has gotten longer by +2mm as compared to the old version. Example: the old Maestrale 27 BSL was 306, and the new Maestrale 27 BSL is 308. The main reason the BSL got longer is because the new boots have less outsole rocker than before (see picture above). By reducing the rocker, the sole gets flatter and therefore measures longer. This flatter profile increases downhill performance without sacrificing comfort.

Should you go down a size? NOT NECESSARILY! If you were in between shell sizes before, it will be an option. However, most people will still wear the same shell size in this new version as they did in the old version.
